I have never fought in a war, been to a war zone or met a President. But I have played Chinese whispers and followed enough news sources to guess that the amount of moving parts and confusion to world events are impossible to accurately document. As much as we fool ourselves to thinking we are being well informed - media is more entertainment than factual. Which reminds me of a great line in a favourite song, the wisdom is in the trees not the glass windows. My base case assumption is that I know very little, no matter how much I read from writers who are trying their best to be as accurate as possible or World leaders reading scripted speeches in front of the media at large.
