In its recent research report, J.P.Morgan identifies companies which have the greatest threat of announcing capital raisings in the upcoming reporting season. Those that may possibly look to raise additional equity include Ardent Leisure, AMP, APN News and Media, Cardno, Computershare, Dexus Property, Evolution Mining, Goodman Fielder, Investa Office, Origin Energy, OZ Minerals, Paladin Energy, QBE Insurance, Sonic Healthcare and Transfield. Note the accurate inclusion of Paladin Energy in the list as the company subsequently announced a capital raising which was brought about by the termination of a crucial asset sale process. The company was then downgraded by the broker on Monday to Neutral from Overweight. On the other hand, stocks listed by J.P.Morgan which have the potential to announce positive capital management initiatives, such as launching new buy-back regimes, include Amcor, CSL, REA Group, ResMed, Suncorp and Westfield.
