India and Australia are both courting each other to develop a strong trading partnership. China as a trading partner over the last decade has dominated, however Australia is trying to broaden this to the far less developed Indian market. India requires the development of infrastructure, which will drive demand for Iron Ore. This is a big benefit to Australia as a nation and thus, Australia continuing to court India as a trading partner will be an ongoing message from the government. We do not currently have any exposure to India, although there is a lot of substance to the Indian opportunity, the Indian market has gotten ahead of itself in terms of prices, and people are forgetting some of the issues that have put India in the lagged position it is currently in. The country is very regional and provincial, these structural issues mean that although we like certain elements of the Indian story we are not currently invested there. Watch full video; (VIEW LINK)
