iSentia (ASX: ISD) is a really interesting business that debuted on the ASX on Wednesday, and closed up +19 per cent from its listing price. The company offers over 5,000 clients a proprietary cloud-based media monitoring tool that captures and interprets content from over 5,500 mainstream media outlets - including TV and radio; 50,000 online news sources; and 3.4 million user generated content sources, such as Facebook, Twitter and China's Weibo. Remarkably, iSentia is able to capture and interpret content in near-real-time. The company can inform its clients of how the conversation is evolving in real-time and before key news items have been picked up by the mainstream press. There are few substitutes for this in the Australian/NZ space. We believe iSentia is for the media/ public-relations industry what Bloomberg is for the finance industry. Read more at: (VIEW LINK)
