It's a pretty big week ahead for the US markets, so expect market volatility to pick up. To start with, it's the first big earnings weeks for Q1 results. This week, we get Intel, Google, IBM, Bank of America, General Electric, Coca-cola, and American Express, among others. Meanwhile, economic reports coming out include retail sales, consumer price index, and new residential construction. After last week's selloff, any bad news from companies (or with the economy) could spark a major flight to safety. On the other hand, better than expected news could give investors reasons to believe we've bottomed out. We'll see what the results bring, but market action could be brisk this week..
