Now long the British Pound and net short $USDs in the portfolio

At 12pm London time today, we have closed our short British Pound trade, taken the profits and gone long. There is nothing I enjoy more in my work than getting a signal to lock in a big gain and making a new trade which runs against the mainstream view. That is what has happened today, the portfolio is still short the Euro (like everyone else), but now we are net short the USD in the portfolio (long the GBP, AUD, CAD, YEN, CHF as all previously blogged about).
