Our latest investment angle I have not blogged for quite some time and to squash any speculation, no I was not on holiday with Mr Putin for the past fortnight while he went missing also. Instead, it has been a combination of it being extremely busy around here and after pushing some long training runs in the cold a bit too hard and not wearing the appropriate Euro chic scarfs on a recent ski trip I caught the cold which lead to a lung infection. All good now though! The last time I did blog, was an overly pleased announcement that I had locked in gains and reduced the portfolio's short Euro position, only to see the coming weeks having extreme Euro weakness and the currency sinking down to 1.05 vs the USD! We did still profit for our investors in this move, but certainly locked in the gains somewhat prematurely, teaching us the age old lesson of never being too confident when trying to call a market top, or bottom!
