Pent up demand awaiting Fed exit
Pent up demand awaiting Fed exit. In December Livewire asked Paul Moore, CIO of PM Capital, if he was concerned about the Fed tapering. Whilst acknowledging that tapering is a new experience, Moore believes that the Fed should have started 12 - 18 months ago. The reality is that markets are recovering, the economy is recovering and they don't need to be there. He expects tapering to stimulate confidence in cashed up corporates allowing them to get back to normal business. Companies have so much cash sitting on their balance sheets and they are just waiting to use it. To be honest once the Fed gets out of the way I believe it will release pent up demand. From an investment perspective Moore says a pull back due to tapering would be perfect and is exactly the kind of opportunity they are looking for.
