Sirius Resources has been the standout presenter so far at the Mines and Money conference in Melbourne. The number of companies participating as speakers and having booths at the convention centre is well down on last year - not surprising given the cost of and the prevailing pessimism about prospects fof the sector. Not only has Sirius been the most successful explorer in Australia in recent years but it has potential for further upside surprise as it strives to define a new world scale nickel mining precinct in WA. It is also moving quickly along a development path - surprisingly quickly, in fact, given all the complaints from the industry about impediments to development. This is now the big test for Sirius: to show it is really streets ahead of everyone else as both an explorer mine developer.
