There has long been speculation that Fairfax will spin-off Domain to unlock value. Rival News Corp Australia owns 61.6 per cent of REA Group, operator of realestate.com.au, which has been one of the best-performing stocks on the ASX over the past five years. Fairfax management has said there are no plans for a Domain float... Street Talk revealed Domain had appointed Jones Lang LaSalle to assist in its search for new office space, with a request for information sent out to a range of landlords and commercial real estate agents late last year. Domain will move out of Fairfax's Pyrmont office due to headcount growth.
