The U.S. Mint has sold 3,625,000 ounces of silver coins so far in August. At that pace, total sales for the month would be 4,430,556 ounces, up 54.4% from a year earlier. It's a different story for gold however, where the Mint has sold 11,000 ounces of gold coins so far in August. At that pace, total sales for the month would be 13,444 ounces, down 65.5% from a year earlier.
