US stocks closed lower overnight while the US dollar rose from a five-week low, a day ahead of the start of the Federal Reserve's two-day policy meeting, which will be closely watched for clues on when the central bank will begin to slow its bond-buying program. The Dow Jones is down 36.86 points, or 0.24%, at 15,521.97 while the S&P 500 is down 6.32 points, or 0.37%, at 1685.33. SPI futures on the other hand are up 4 points.
