Where's your strategy when you're spooked by the market? If we believe everything we read the latter half of 2014 is shaping up to be a choppy experience for investors. Macro events in Ukraine and the Middle East continue to drive markets as much as investment fundamentals. It might feel choppy with media reports on recent events at front of mind, but the data suggests otherwise. Annualised volatility is tame and while this is based upon historical returns, it is perhaps a long-bow to assume we are at the bottom of the cycle. While a sell off is possible, superficially we appear to be more in a period of stability.
