With the Australian economy sending signals of tepid growth - corporates and investors are turning an eye to offshore markets. The shifting interest to offshore markets is not a new theme, however, it is gaining momentum. In the past 9 months there has been a rush of new investment vehicles offering Australian's access to new markets. In many cases these offshore strategies have been an extension of a mangers domestic offering as they struggle to find attractive growth investments on the ASX. PM Capital, Forager Funds, The Global Value Fund, Clime Asset Management have all released new international offerings. Corporates are also broadening horizons with growth businesses such as Cardno, Seek and Virtus all seeking to enter offshore markets via acquisitions or new ventures.
