Westpac Economics Weekly Video Update

Westpac
The focus this week has been on our Westpac–MNI China Consumer Sentiment survey and investment partial data ahead of next week's Australian Q3 GDP release. In China, households' perceptions of the business environment improved in November following October's decline. Discretionary spending indicators also improved as views on housing remained sanguine. The labour market remains a clear concern. In Australia, construction and CAPEX investment both disappointed in Q3, but CAPEX intentions for 2015/16 improved somewhat – a positive for the 2016 investment outlook. Next week, the RBA and ECB meet; Australian Q3 GDP is released; and the November US employment report prints.
