An independent resource estimate from 88 Energy lifted the geological chance of success at its Icewine prospect located on the onshore northern slope of Alaska from 40% to 60%. The report which defined a prospective P50 project resource of 2,471 mmbls noted that 90% of liquids are in the gas phase warranting consideration of a liquid stripping operation in any development. Alice Queen reported thin but attractive grade intersections from a program of 11 diamond holes beneath the flooded open pit at its Ngurupai gold prospect centred on former workings on Horn Island. Grade appeared to increase with depth. The extent of mineralised veins beyond the historic pit to the northwest is untested. Silver City Minerals has commenced a RAB drilling program at Razorback West and further west at Yalcowinna in the Broken Hill region to follow up earlier intersections before testing the up-dip extent of historical mineralisation at the Stephens Trig prospect with an RC drilling program. The company has flagged the prospect as a potential shallow open pit operation feeding existing Broken Hill base metal processing facilities.
