Kessler: Currency war a once in a generation opportunity. Central bank actions around the world appear to be focused on attempts to stimulate their individual economies and fend off deflation. Australia has been a latecomer to this strategy resulting in an overvalued currency as the major economic blocks engage in a currency war, or race to the bottom. Our strategy has been to ensure we have sufficient exposure to non-Australian dollar assets and earnings streams to take advantage of a once-in-a-generation opportunity to monetise global wealth. In other words - we have used our overvalued Australian dollars to buy non-Australian dollar stocks like Resmed, Fox, CSL and US dollar Beta shares.
