Mike Taylor CIO & CEO of Pie Funds believes equity markets are generally effective in reacting to new information. When we asked about the #1 risk facing the market he says low volatility is proviing an opportunity to buy cheap insurance. To be honest I think that the market (as a whole) is efficiently priced most of the time. The great thing about equities is that they react to new information very quickly and re-price assets accordingly. The herd is actually right most of time, which is why on average investors and fund managers generally underperform over the long-run. All I can add here is that volatility is low, so market participants aren't worried about much at the moment and as such it's a good time to buy cheap insurance cover for a black swan event.
