One comment from the MD/CEO's speech is worth digesting: "Ladies and Gentlemen, this is a tipping point in the history of Origin. The energy industry is going through a period of turmoil very similar to the GFC in the Financial Markets. The companies that face up to their predicament, learn from their mistakes, and take bold, decisive action will be those that thrive. This was the lesson from the GFC, and one that we have applied to Origin." In other news from Origin Energy today, Karen Moses has announced her retirement (in 2016 to pursue a non-executive director career) and thus the resolution to re-elect her to the Board has been withdrawn.
