Sunset Strip | Aussie market was mainly driven by yield stocks again and remained positive with global sentiment. Aussie yield stocks continue move up while the miners remain in volatile region. More brokers are pushing back rate rise in Australia well into 2015, but we see no rate rises till 2016. Federal government has set the trap for states to ask for GST rise by lumping them with cuts to education and health in the budget. Now they have started talking federation (i.e. GST rise) while the main trick is where the money trail goes as the counter balance. We would have to see equitable income tax cuts in the low to middle income earners to maintain the sliding consumer sentiment. With mid-year budget update due mid-December, beware brokers pushing Christmas retail recovery....Santa will be delivering a lot of IOU's this year.
