The rest of the world has reacted with disbelief, Steve Johnson, CIO, Forager Funds Management. Will repealing the carbon tax impact or change investor sentiment? I don't think it has much of an impact on domestic sentiment but the rest of the world has reacted with disbelief: 'They repealed a carbon scheme?' This, or the fiddling around with the RET, or changing legislation so they could take back pokies licences in Victoria, none of it has done us any favours as an attractive place for foreigners to invest. It's obviously good news for brown coal power generators and energy intensive industries (do we have any of those left?) but, perversely, might actually end up being good for renewable energy producers if they keep the RET.
