Livewire Markets

In this thematic video discussion we look at the rapidly changing landscape for Australian grocery retailers. In particular we look at Woolworths, Wesfarmers (Coles) and Metcash (IGA). With new entrants squeezing margins there has been question marks about the ability for these businesses to continue to grow. Metcash has been the worst hit with over 75% of value wiped from their market capitalisation, Woolworths remains challenged, however, some investors have been speaking up saying there is value now on offer. Wesfarmers has a diversified business model with Bunnings and Coles the front runners in their respective fields. Simon Bonouvrie from Cadence Capital and Romano Sala Tenna from Katana Asset Management join Matthew Kidman in this latest discussion on a highly topical sector in the Australian market.
