Queensland Mining Corporation reported a 26 metre intersection of 1.56% copper and 1.7 g/t silver from a down hole depth of 59 metres at Tank Hill North near Cloncurry. Despite MIM Holdings being active in the area historically and the discovery hole being under an outcrop of deformed iron-rich gossan, this location had not been drill tested previously. The regional signature of the area, which hosts a number of significant copper systems, has a strong copper-iron association. Metaliko Resources reported results from its Yandal tenement position which is being evaluated with a view to restarting the idled Bronzewing mill. The results were insufficient to underpin a redevelopment plan or point to a new ore system. West African Resources has commenced drilling at its M3 prospect in central Burkina Faso. High grade gold was intersected at the prospect in September. The current program seeks to test the potential of the zone at depth with the possibility of a high grade mineralised structure in the basement rocks altering judgements about what has previously been considered a small scale oxide development opportunity.
