Aussie market was aimless and traded flat as it waits for central bankers to set the tone. We have just started “The week of the central bankers”. There are four central banks in action…(1) China’s PBOC are in the middle of the 4 day meeting to come up with their 5 year plan…we should get their update at the end of the week after announcing the rate cut and drop in reserve ratio last Friday (2) US Fed starts their meeting tonight and we should get their views on Thursday morning (3) Japan’s BOJ has their interest rate meeting on Friday (4) Aussie RBA has their meeting on next Tuesday and expect them to do nothing. PBOC expected to stimulate, US Fed expected to push back rate rise, BOJ expected to flag more stimulus while RBA most likely to stay put and watch. Now the market is waiting on central bankers to confirm that low rates will stay for longer as the global economies are stuck in low growth for longer than expected. Stay positive and stay nimble!!!
