A literature review by Maximus Resources of the historic Spargoville gold workings revealed the presence of a distinct “blue lode” containing gold nuggets leading to its reinterpretion as finely laminated calcareous and carbonaceous sediment. The Eagles Nest prospect in Western Australia is 8km south of the now-exhausted high grade Wattle Dam where an interflow shale unit was intimately associated with high grade mineralisation. The company is planning to drill 14 holes on three sections at Eagles Nest in coming weeks. Apollo Consolidated reported moderate anomalism without specific higher grade vectors from a 72 hole air core drilling program on 12 sections spread over 20km at its Korhogo gold prospect in northern Cote d’Ivoire. Further assays are due. Real Energy is set to commence a five-stage fracture stimulation program in mid March at its Tamarama-1 well in the Cooper Basin. The well is focused on the Toolachee- Patchawarra Formation from a down-hole depth of 2,300 metres. The program is seeking to demonstrate the flow rate characteristics of a large contingent gas resource targeting east coast domestic and export gas markets.
