S2 Resources has reported, in follow up exploration results, that two RC holes at its Monsoon gold prospect near Lake Cowan in Western Australia intersected composite zones of 66 metres at 11.4 g/t Au (from 74 metres, uncut) and 38 metres of 6.41 g/t Au (from 75 metres, uncut). Each intersection contained 8 metres of very high grade material within a zone of alteration at a key rock type boundary. The holes were located on sections 40 metres apart. ABM Resources reported assay results from the Bumblebee geophysical anomaly at Lake Mackay in Western Australia arising from a program of four diamond and three RC holes to test a strong electromagnetic conductor. The drilling detected base metal mineralisation but the company characterised the results as being “not as strong as had been hoped for”. Avalon Minerals has flagged commencement of exploration drilling at its Kietyonmaki lithium prospect in Finland in August. The prospect is a Geological Survey of Finland discovery dating from 1987. The company has previously worked on copper prospects in the Kiruna region of northern Sweden.
