The Future Has Already Arrived
Without any doubt, one of the most astute, and accurate, statements made by an Australian Large Cap CEO comes from Transurban's Scott Charlton with the Fairfax media last week quoting him as follows: "Disruption and opportunities are not five, 10 or 20 years away. They are happening now." And they are impacting, of course, on existing business operations and on business models. Which is why investors better pay attention. Opportunities go hand in hand with threats and challenges. One competitor's opportunity is another one's threat, and vice versa. But picking winners and losers is not as easy as it sounds. New challengers are not necessarily winning the long game, while stalwarts from the past are not going to give in without a fight. One things is certain though, next to death and taxes, there's now another certainty in life, it's called "change". My Weekly Insights: (VIEW LINK)
