Mark Carney and the Bank of England are likely to embark on their first rate hike in 7 years next year. This weeks blog looks at expectations in the UK as well as what the Federal Reserve minutes said about their expectations on rates. We conclude that markets have swung from too hawkish to too dovish and the risks are that a December move catches equity investors off guard, dampening the usual Christmas rally.
