Central Banks are walking a fine line
Anton Tagliaferro, Investment Director at Investors Mutual, says he can't recall a time where economic conditions and investment markets have been in a similar set up to the current to those of today. "This is not a normal cycle. Rates have been low now for many years.. What you are seeing is a bit of growth, no inflation and just a little bit of growth. So it's quite a different landscape to what we have seen before." Tagliaferro says Central Banks are now playing a balancing game between igniting inflation and stifling economies that are not that strong. "If the price to pay is lower interest rates for a lot longer than they had envisaged, they're prepared to do that at the moment." In the full interview Anton discusses whether a focus on paying dividends is impacting investment in growth and where he sees 'fair value' in the Australian market.
