Next Bear Market 2019 ?

Investors fret all the time about the next correction for the share market and this time is no different. However, what should genuinely worry investors is when the next bear market is likely to arrive. Corrections are just that, temporary pull backs in an otherwise up-trending market. A bear market, however, is a complete different animal. Memories of 2000-2002 and of 2008-2009 are still fresh. Recent research by strategists at Glushkin Sheff, Citi and others suggests there is little reason to expect anything other than a correction in the short to medium term. Even if the Federal Reserve starts tightening later this year, historical analysis suggests equities still have three more years left before the possible advent of the next Bear. In the meantime, corrections are but par for the course and equities haven't seen one since 2011, historically an unusually long time without at least one 10% pull back.
